Frequently Asked Questions
How the AI diagnosis works, what it costs, and how we work with our partner plumber.
General Questions
How does PlumberNearMe.ai work?
Describe your plumbing problem in the chat, or upload a photo or video. The AI gives you a likely diagnosis, what to do right now, and a typical cost range for Los Angeles and Orange County. If you want a plumber, enter your ZIP code. If our partner plumber covers it, we send them your request and they call you.
Is PlumberNearMe.ai free to use?
Yes. The AI diagnosis is free and there is no fee to send a request. If you hire the plumber, you pay them directly for the work.
What areas do you serve?
Parts of Los Angeles County and Orange County, through a licensed, insured partner plumber. When you send a request we check your ZIP code. If it is not covered yet, we tell you right away. The AI diagnosis works anywhere, but its cost ranges are based on LA and Orange County.
How do I know the plumber is trustworthy?
We check our partner's California contractor license with the Contractors State License Board and confirm they carry insurance before they receive any request. We do not run background checks. You can look up any contractor's license yourself at cslb.ca.gov.
Service & Scheduling
How quickly can I get a plumber?
We do not promise arrival times. If our partner covers your ZIP code, they will call you to schedule. For emergencies, shut off your main water valve first. If you smell gas, leave the building and call SoCalGas at 1-800-427-2200 or 911 from outside.
Do you offer 24/7 emergency service?
No. Our safety guide covers what to do in the first minutes of a burst pipe, sewage backup, or gas smell.
Can I choose my own plumber?
You are never obligated to hire anyone. Right now we work with one partner plumber, so there is no list of plumbers to compare on our site. You can use your diagnosis and cost range when you call any licensed plumber you choose.
What if I'm not satisfied with the work?
Your agreement is with the plumber, so raise it with them first. You can also tell us at contact@plumbernearme.ai. If a contractor dispute cannot be resolved, the Contractors State License Board accepts complaints at cslb.ca.gov.
Pricing & Payment
How much does a plumber typically cost?
It depends on the job. As typical estimates for Los Angeles and Orange County, a basic toilet repair runs about $100 to $250 and a tank water heater replacement about $1,200 to $2,500. The real price depends on what the plumber finds. Ask for a written quote before work begins.
How accurate are the AI cost ranges?
They are estimates of typical prices, not quotes. Access, parts, permits, and what the plumber finds on site all change the final number.
What payment methods do plumbers accept?
That is up to the plumber. Ask when they call, before work starts.
Do you guarantee prices or work?
No. PlumberNearMe.ai does not perform the work or set prices. Ask the plumber for a written quote and for what their warranty covers.
Trust & Safety
Are the plumbers licensed and insured?
Yes. Before a plumber gets requests through PlumberNearMe.ai, we check their California contractor license and proof of insurance.
Do you run background checks?
No. We check license and insurance only.
What happens to my photos and information?
Photos and videos are analyzed by AI and are not stored. Your contact details go only to our partner plumber, and only if they cover your ZIP code. See our privacy policy for details.
For Plumbers
How can I become a partner plumber?
Apply on the For Plumbers page. You need an active California contractor license and proof of insurance. We review every application by hand.
What does it cost to be a partner?
Nothing right now. While we build request volume, requests go out at no charge. If that changes, partners will be told before it does.
How do I receive requests?
By email, with the homeowner's name, phone number, ZIP code, issue type, urgency, and description. You call the homeowner directly.
Can I set my own prices?
Yes. You quote and invoice the homeowner directly. We show homeowners typical price ranges only.
Not sure what you are looking at?
Upload a photo or describe it to see a likely cause and a typical cost range.
